These two-time, award-winning preserves combine the best of my mother's whole fig preserves with fresh ginger, vanilla bean, and a generous splash of bourbon. They were not designed with sliced white bread in mind, but are meant instead to be spooned over hot biscuits on lazy Sunday mornings.
